Roxie is a soulful jazz singer with an enticing spirit and velvety tone. A hippie at heart, she is on a mission to empower woman and minorities around the world with her voice. Her repertoire includes warm ballads and torch songs that expose raw feminine vulnerability. Flirting with the blues and spicing up some of todays hottest top 40 tunes is one of her unique skills. Roxie’s influences include Sade, Eperanza Spalding and Billie Holiday. She has been singing since she was 7 years old, always in the school choir and local theatrical clubs, Roxie loves to entertain and perform. She is a scholarship graduate of the UCLA school of music and continues to study the voice, piano and guitar. The stage is her favorite date and truly the one place she can call home. Roxie has performed at the House of Blues, The Whiskey, Renaissance Hotel, Viper Room, Music Center and the Kodak Theatre. She has also been contracted to tour internationally in Japan and Canada. She is an active member of the LA Women in Music, National Association of Teachers of Singing and also a Certified Reiki Master Healer. She is currently working on her first jazz album and is searching for a fine venue where she can perform jazz on a regular basis and build a nice following. |
